ASPENSI (International Association for Historians and History Educators) in collaboration with UBD (University of Brunei Darussalam) in Bandar Seri Begawan and ARS University in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia

1. INTRODUCTION

ASPENSI in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia, is dedicated to addressing critical educational issues. This conference brings together various stakeholders, including lecturers, teachers, policymakers, government agencies, and learners themselves. The exploration of the history, concepts, principles, implementations, problems, solutions, and prospects of the Politics of Education aims to generate a wealth of knowledge for collective discussion and sharing.

The main theme, “Politics of Education and its Implications toward Social, Cultural, and Human Resources Development in Southeast Asian Countries and Around the Globe,” underscores the conference’s focus. The event aims to identify, construct, and share various aspects of Educational Politics, fostering collaboration and networking among scholars, lecturers, teachers, and practitioners in Southeast Asian countries and globally.

2. OBJECTIVES

The overarching goal of the International Conference is to reconstruct the genesis, principles, and practices of “Politics of Education and its Implications toward Social, Cultural, and Human Resources Development in Southeast Asian Countries and Around the Globe.”

  • Specifically, the conference aims to:
  • Provide a forum for sharing the latest ideas, developments, and research findings on Politics of Education.
  • Identify issues that enhance interests, achievements, and involvements in Politics of Education across diverse socio-cultural and geopolitical backgrounds.
  • Compare and contrast practices related to Politics of Education.
    Strengthen linkages and encourage networking among historians, history educators, administrators, and leaders in Politics of Education.

3. SUB THEMES

The conference will delve into the following sub-themes:

  1. Case studies for Politics of Education in Southeast Asian Countries and Around the Globe.
  2. History of educational institutions, including theory, methodology, curriculum, and assessment in Politics of Education.
  3. ICT or Information and Communication Technology’s literacy: challenges and responses in Politics of Education and its Implications.
  4. The Great Malay cultures and education legacies in facing the mainstream of globalization.
  5. Education as power for enhancing social prosperity and political democracy.

4. LANGUAGES

This International Conference will utilize Indonesian, Malay, and English languages for communication.

5. OPENING CEREMONY

This conference by invitation will be officially opened by Prof. Dr. Haji Awang Asbol bin Haji Mail, President of ASPENSI in Bandung, Indonesia, and Lecturer at the International History Study Program, Faculty of Arts and Humanities UBD (University of Brunei Darussalam) in Bandar Seri Begawan, Negara Brunei Darussalam.

6. GUEST SPEAKERS

Distinguished speakers from Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, and the Philippines will share their expertise and insights during the conference.

7. CALL FOR PRESENTER AND PARTICIPANT

The Committee invites experts, lecturers, teachers, and other professionals to submit their full papers by the deadline of May 20, 2024. Early registration is encouraged due to limited participant slots.

8. WORKING PAPERS AND PUBLICATION

Selected papers will undergo review for publication in Minda Masagi journals, both nationally and internationally.

9. CONFERENCE FEE AND FACILITIES

Participants are required to pay a fee of IDR 10,000,000 (USD 655), covering accommodation, meals, transportation, entry to tourism destinations, publication in journals, a branded T-shirt, a handbag from HAWWA Tours & Travels, and conference kits.

10. FURTHER INFORMATION

The registration deadline was December 30, 2023, with a down payment (DP) of IDR 1,000,000 (USD 65). All SSB fees must be settled by June 2024.
